Sun Yat-sen Museum former base or No. 120 Armenian Street in Penang is a residential shophouse on Armenian Street. It was built around the year of 1880. The shophouse has three sections with an unusual length of 130 feet. The exterior facade reflects the characteristics of a late Southern Chinese Eclectic style shophouse. The ground floor facade is equipped with a traditional gilded comb door, paired with timber windows and fan-shaped air vents. On the first floor, a bressummer beam supports a low wall with green ceramic vents. Above the low wall is a series of full width timber louvred shutters, which are then topped by coloured panels. No. 120 Armenian Street is one of the few Wensi Heritage’s undertakings on heritage shophouses. The restoration focuses on the decorative paint works and jian nian sculptural works on the front facade as well as making a new comb door.
