Ting Kwang Tong Temple was established in 1891 by a group of Hokkien descendants at Thalang Road on the island of Phuket. The temple is a single-bayed hall fronted by a prayer pavilion – a typical spatial configuration found in Hokkien style temples. The interior is fully painted with murals. The meticulously engraved altar enshrines various gods; one of them is Xie Xuan Marshall. In 2002, the team of Wensi Heritage went to Phuket Island to undertake the restoration works of Ting Kwang Tong Temple. The works included rectification of roof finishes, making-good of jian nian sculptures and repainting works
