Leng Seng Tang Temple

In 1997, Wensi Heritage was invited to Butterworth to construct an entrance archway for Sungai Puyu Leng Seng Tang Temple. The archway was designed to have three bays with four columns. Its roof was layered into three smaller roofs to increase the richness of form. The central ridges are curved and their ends pointed in an upward fashion like ‘swallow tails’. Twelve of all the rood ridges were decorated with dragon sculptures. Above the roof eaves, figurines of The Eight Immortals fill up the space and create an exuberant scene. The signage walls below the roof are decorated with paintings. Above the signage, the San Xing gods watch over the archway, blessing temple-goers with prosperity, fortune and longevity.
